I posted a public Forum Question concerning something I'm trying to do regarding paranormal stuff. If anyone reading this has something weird to add feel free to share.

So... hmmm let's see. Art/Job related things.

The studio is starting to die down now. All of the rough animators are finished and will be back to start work on "Delilah & Julius" on the 28th. I have 2 episodes left to paint and I have right up until the17th of January (well the schedule says the 19th but I'll be starting on D&J on the 17th). I got a"sort of" promotion but I would assume that it was only because they merged the Painters and the Clean-Up Animators into one. I'm looking forward to it actually but the hours that I spend working are about to increase dramtically so I'm not sure if the raisevs dollars per hour will actually increase or not... maybe a little.

I've been watching a few videos concering "Concept Design". They mostly deal with creature and set/landscape design for animation, film and video games. After watching the first one I was amazed with the techniques involved from start to finish. By the time I got to the third and fourth vids I realized that I was predicting what I would do to make thedesign better and more often than not the instuctor would do the same thing.

So I've been thinking that I would really enjoy "concept design". Just an interest/hobby for right now of course. I came to this because after really sitting down and going over my work and sketch books I realized that over the years most of what I had done were just ideas. I have so MANY ideas. Probably only 10% of them have ever been drawn or written about. My head always seems so full and so random of just different things, ideas, designs. Now I realize that "Concept Design" is usually (always) based on someone else's ideas and its the responsibility of the designer to bring these ideas to life, but I feel like I could give it a resonable shot.

Before I get carried away though, I realzed that being a designer of any type requires a lot of hard work and dedication (something I've had a continuous problem with) and I know I'm not ready for it yet. I know my skills aren't up to par with professionals (not by a long shot!) so I know that even if I'm vaguely intersted I'll have to practice honing the skills I have as well as develop some new ones too.

This is getting a lot longer than I intended so I guess I'll just leave it at that for now.

I'm always looking/hoping for new ways to pull myself out of this dreary mud-filled hole that I've dug for myself over the years. Maybe this will help, maybe not. We'll see.

EDIT: Commented on a few things for now. Never realized how much there was to comment on. I'll save the rest for tomorrow. I'm tired now.

Oh yeah, "The Incredibles" was great. I recommend it to everyone.

I'm going to set aside some time tonight to comment on you're deviations too. Just can't right now. Going to see "The Incredibles" with co-workers. It's a work sponsered thing. They decided to trade a beerand pizza night for a movie outing. I'm broke. It's free. So I'm going.

I had a look at what a lot of you have submitted since I last made a Journal entry and I must say that I am impressed with how well everyone is doing.

I'm trying to stay away from the accursed oblivion that beist the internet.

I'll try to stay in touch more. I suppose I can manage to check my email at least once a week.

Still playin with some sketches and stuff but the next few months at work are only going to get busier as we get closer to wrapping up the show.

Getting a raise/promotion in a few months... YAY! *flailing arms about wildly*

The show can be seen on Teletoon in Canada. It's called Olliver's Adventures.
We'll be finishing its third and final season soon and the new season is showing now on Saturday and Sunday at 6:30am & 2:30pm ET. It can also be seen on some local networks in the States and in Australia but I don't have any details about that.
